"And next; Chasm Of Ice. The Silver Tabby is purebred in all silver lines, with a perfect build and beautiful gaze. Now, let's se what the judges think..." Chasm stared at the flashing board in hopeless confusion. Twoleg chatter, talking about how they loved her and her work. The usual. Being raised by twolegs, she could understand them. It was a miracle she could speak cat at all! Frowning, she watched as the scores piled up in flashing orange and golden colors. Chasm sat and awaited a victory. She was certainly the best of this show. And there it was, Chasm on top. Even with another ribbon, Chasm felt no success. Sure, she might now get a few treats. But she would sleep in the same bed, in the same house. In the same place. She was digging a rut for herself, and all she wanted to do was be different. Not the best. Not like some perfect cat way back when, that was considered beautiful. She wanted to be unique. Wasn't that true beauty?
Gazing out of the window sill, she wished silently to be outside. She could slip out after dark, when her humans slept. But that was what she always did. Maybe she would go further tonight. Maybe she could touch the lake! As she gazed out the window, she saw a lithe figure move through the brush. Who was it? Slowly, Chasm slipped outside to see.

Pouncetooth had snuck away from Shadowclan, from his real duties, from everything. He wanted to see what was beyond the borders of his clan, being confined in a square of land was not enough for him, he needed more in his life, as a part of his life seemed to be missing. As he roamed twoleg gardens he caught a cat in a window out of the corner of his eye, one minute it was there then the next it was gone, or it was really coming outside to see who was on its territory. He snorted to himself, who was he kidding, kittypets couldn't fight, the only dangerous thing around here was monsters and dogs. He would probably die of surprise if a kittypet dared to attack him. He continued ducking under bushes and marking random places with his scent, mainly because he felt like it when he scented a kittypet near by. His eyes narrowed as he spun around. This should be fun, or should it? What makes kittypets think they can get away with anything, the fact that if things get tough they can go running to their twolegs? He couldn't help but smirk at that. He had traveled all the way from his clan to find kittypets? Well this visit had better be good, especially if he got caught, as he would be punished. However, he was one of the sneakiest cats in the forest now wasn't he? It wasn't very likely that he would get caught by any cat that stood in his path.

Chasm sidled quietly up toward the cat that approached her home. She remained hidden in the shrubs. How she managed to evade detection by the warrior was a true mystery. But she was unnoticed as she watched a lithe white form slip out toward the tom. It was Cherry, a beautiful she-cat with a short temper and long whiskers. She was oft trying to get herself into more trouble than she had ever meant - at least that was how it appeared. She was a funny cat, and had already had two litters from unknown toms. How did she manage to sneak out again? Chasm watched slowly as the she-cat approached the tom.
The tom smelt of rank forest. Like murder, rot, and anything else Chasm might find in the woods beyond her house. She was intrigued by the scents, and unlike Cherry who turned her bright pink nose up in disgust, Chasm just intook it more deeply. The tom was a curious thing, she had never seen him before. He also smelt distinct. She had often smelt the same scent flow to her from the woods on windy days. How odd, that he should smell like that. The nasty, carrion oder only made Chasm draw closer to him through the shrubs.
"Hello there, handsome." Cherry meowed, her bright pink tongue moving to form the words against her lips. She smiled sweetly, but through her eyes it was easy to see that she was trying not to cough. Idiot.

Pouncetooth's eyes narrowed, and ears pricked upon hearing and scenting a kittypet. If it had been a clan cat it would have scared all the prey off of the territory by now. His eyes glittered in amusment at this. Kittypets were rather dumb, and noisy, and fat, and well soft, they are no match for clan cats. He has muscles to make him look bulky and large, kittypets? They just have fat. He turned to face the cat that was approaching him. He turned to look directly at the kittypet who was approaching him, she would be no match for him. His tail swished through the air, backwards an forwards, very calmly as if he owned the place, the kittypet wouldn't be able to do anything about it. He wrinkled his nose when the kittypet spoke to him. "Can't say the same for you." He spat at her. He wasn't going to give into a kittypets foolish and immature ways of life, no way.
He narrowed his eyes ay the she-cat before walking right past her, he began to sniff the twoleg plants and pulled away from a large pink looking thing as he felt a tickle in his nose. Then he let out a sneeze. He twitched his tail as another scent flowed through his scent glands. Cat mint. He let out a quiet purr of pleasure at the smell of the herb, maybe he should bring some back for the medicine cat, after all it was very rare to find cat mint anywhere in the forest. He padded over to the plant and began to suspiciously sniff at it. All his senses were alert for cats moving around him, one thing was for sure, he could scent more than one cat in the garden, but no more than two.

Cherry looked hurt at the tom's harsh reply. But she did not see it fit to give up. "Oh, well, sir. I'd like you to know that I have one countless ribbons for my fairity." Fairity? More like vanity! Is fairity even a word? Well, Cherry proves just now that she has yet to win an award for her brilliance. Chasm sighed. She quickly wriggled up the fence, without being seen or caught, and down the other side into another garden. From here she could speculate the scene to the point that Cherry would fight for her honor - a thing she had yet to achieve. Chasm sighed yet again, watched from the opposing end of the yard what the tom was doing. "So what do you think of that?" Cherry giggled softly, stepping up next to the tom. She rubbed into his flank, causing Chasm to flinch. She was only asking for trouble. The catnip smelt strong, enough to possibly mask her odor. Chasm knew that she needed to remain unseen in order to obtain a front-row seat in on the action. She sought a bush of juniper a twoleg grew in her garden - no cat knew quite why. But Chasm found it useful now more so than ever. She rolled in the prickly plant, masking almost all of her odor. It was clever, but somewhat foolish. Who was she hiding from? He couldn't be a master of scent! No cat was ever that good...

"I think you are a useless piece of meat." He meowed. Pouncetooth let out a purr of amusement. "I kill other cats and hunt prey to feed and protect my clan." He hissed. "Now, what do you think of that." His eyes were challenging. He could scent another cat come from behind, but then the scent disappeared again, thin he could smell it, juniper. Was one of his clan mates following him? No, he would have spotted him on his way here, so who then? He wasn't impressed by this cat who was valued for her pelt, a life wasn't worth living if thats what you spent it doing. He likes adventure, and fighting battles, showing everyone how loyal he was, yet parts of his life were missing, and had yet to be filled in, but by what exactly?
Well he didn't have a mate for a start, he had never thought about a mate before, let alone kits. He didn't see that any of the she-cats in Shadowclan were able to claim his heart. A growl rumbled in his throat as he cast another glance at the she-cat. Then he suppressed a long sigh, whoever was n the juniper must think they were so great as they hadn't been spotted. It was a good idea, especially if it was a kittypet, but why was she hiding? "you can come out you know, yes you, hiding in the juniper." His meow rang out, he wasn't very amused. He just wanted to get on with exploring, grab some cat mint and go home.

Ooo, I see, I just read it. (:
Is there any way Autumn, my ShadowClan warrior, could be involved in this plot? There isn't anything going on with her currently and it could be fun. ^^

Well if Autumn is a she-cat, she could maybe be a bit of competition for Chasm? But in the end Chasm would be his chosen mate, and of course she would have to agree =]

Autumn is a she-cat. :3
Wouldn't that be sort of pointless? x33 If Pouncetooth favors Chasm more than Autumn in the first place there wouldn't really be any competition. xD

Chasm watched from the fence's hole. Glad she had moved, now the strange tomcat would never scent her. She glanced back to Cherry, whose pink nose was turned up in disgust. At the words, clear and painful, Cherry glared at him. The anger that enveloped her eyes was amazing, strong yet fearful. She was scared about what she was now going to attempt. Chasm sighed, rolling her eyes. Stupid furball. He probably eats cats like you. Don't do it. Chasm lay flat against the fence now, eagerly awaiting the stupidity that was practically written across Cherry's face. Don't do it. Chasm commanded. But it was too late.
Cherry launched herself at the tom, a poor battle cry ringing through the air. She was headed for him, and then had landed on the bare earth. "No one calls me useless!" Chasm snickered quietly. She realized Cherry's antisense in what she said. No, se was not useless. Well, maybe, but that wasn't the point. He had said a useless piece of meat. So, she was saying she was a piece of meat? Basically calling 'Eat Me'. But she was a piece of meat. And that was probably what her twolegs - all twolegs, mind you - thought of her, and of all cats. Cherry whipped around, slashing claws at the tom's flank. Her claws had been trimmed and dulled by her housefolk, so they would hardly touch the tomcat. Still, Cherry fought and tried to scratch the cat.
