Gentle winds blew into her face. Honey-colored sunbeams touched her dark orange fur delicately. The cool grass provided comfort for her sore paws, weary from traveling quite a great distance in a mere three days. Her striking blue eyes stared into the vast expanse of trees and undergrowth ahead of her. She'd continue walking until she found suitable shelter for the night, slowly approaching inch by inch.
But for now, Amaranth was resting.
She didn't exactly know why she wandered aimlessly through forests and across fields. She could easily settle down and stay in one place like the Clan cats with their camps and selected territories. But maybe that was why she loved the life of a loner; it never ceased to be boring. She was always on the move, exploring new places and meeting new cats. Perhaps today would contain excitement. Maybe she'd come across another loner, or have to put up a fight against an unfriendly rogue - maybe she'd even cross over into one of the Clans' territories by accident and meet some of the infamous felines. That might've been what she loved most: never knowing what would happen next. Her unpredictable lifestyle always quenched her thirst for adventure.
Although sometimes, she had to seek that adventure out. Like now, as she sat alone in the midst of this forest. She was far off from the Clans, and she couldn't even see any birds or other prey. I guess this time, it'll have to come to me, she thought to herself.
Sighing, Amaranth slowly laid down on the ground. Today didn't look like much; she wondered if anything at all would happen. It certainly didn't seem that way when she looked around at the ordinary atmosphere. But all she could really do was wait until she felt ready to continue wandering. She couldn't assume that anything would happen, but she also couldn't insist that today would be uneventful. Amaranth was always in the middle; never quick to jump to the left decision or the right. She just waited, closing her eyes and inhaling the peace that sat around her. pure serenity agonizing boredom...

x... Velovia...x All around us, nature is telling us a story of the old o - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Mood: Neutral; content
ush green living organisms stretch out its branches towards the path-clear skies. The presence grew still as if winter is at its attack over every corner of the woodlands. Its auditory sensory has no stories to tell. It was as if the woodlands is under a deep spell, bound to be silent for eternity. I knew better than to trust my thoughts over reality. The wilderness; was it under attack by retched twolegs? Or is it just a dream I am having right now. I have doubts in my gut. There were nothing more than the frozen life. Time must have been at its rest for now. A second and heartbeat later, it would still be the same. The silence is nothing new I supposed. I'm not that attentive to those of around me. Even if I had been living here for years; in future decades. However, the serenity is my companion for now. I could not sense any of life, or even make out the cause for this stillness around me. There must be bound of something; a sense of life or anything around here. Is there even one around me right now? I don't really have a sureness of it. My thoughts; all cramped up, worrying over something that doesn't even make any sense. What a waste of me. Must I really be the one wakening everyone from their sleep? Of course not. That would be pointless and stupid of me. My walk seemed endless after a few. What am I even to do around here? Smack" Ooof!" A minute, I was standing, the next, I was on the dusty earth. Must have tripped something. Oh. it turned out to be a log. However does it get there anyway? Lifting myself up, I licked off any dirt found around my body. Bleh! Tastes like- dirt. Then again, the log looked cadaverous. Wow. So much for my imagination. If I were to meet anyone currently, I would not be fretting over my choice of words. Hence, I don't look unfriendly, do I? Argh. You're commenting on yourself. I feel bad already. Whatever do I mind of myself? I wonder. The rough winds of the west brushed against my chest. Chilling. What a way to greet. Eyes stinging from the previous wind, I began to rubbed against my closed eyelids, wiping the dirt away. My thoughts began to resume back to my encounter that I might or will have; if I'm lucky. I have a cunning mind, so as my careful branches of words. I don't have to worry. I don't have to fret about it. That's right. Wait, I am being nervous...? Um, well, it is normal right? I mean-- ah shut it vel! Jeez. I stopped. Hold it. Seems like company is not long till I meet. Excellent. I was getting pretty tiresomely bored. Whoever that might be, better have skills of entertaining me. Stronger and stronger the scent grew. It is no badger nor a fox. Just like me, it is a feline. Well, good then. Might be comfortable. Wasn't it that long enough before I discovered the source of the scent. " Why, hello there" Before anything else, I gave a slight bow, in recognition of showing my respect and harmlessness towards her. Well I just hope you're friendly...[/ul] Author's Note: Forgive me for the delay of replying to your wait :]

It seemed like she'd been staring out into the dim nothingness of twilight for a moon before Amaranth was startled by a voice behind her. "Why, hello there." She whirled around on her heels, claws slipping from their scabbards instinctively - however, what met her sight was merely another cat. But who was to say they wouldn't attack? Although, on the other hand, who was to say they would? She would simply have to wait and anticipate nothing; it was never good to have expectations. It either ended up disappointing or putting one through unpleasant apprehension. The cat bowed in apparent respect to Amaranth.
She studied the tom standing before her for a brief few seconds before parting her lips to speak. "And hello to you too, stranger," she purred. "What are you doing hanging around unfamiliar cats?" Her tail twitched in amusement at her own words.
The cat's body movement, expression, and tone of voice all sounded friendly; he clearly meant no harm. Not one hair on Amaranth's reddish-orange pelt bristled as she awaited the reaction of the other loner, or so he seemed to be.
((Short, sorry. And that's okay. :]))

...x All around us, nature is telling us a story of the oldo - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Mood: Neutral; Amused "What are you doing hanging around unfamiliar cats?"How pleasant. Her voice seems melodious, light and warm. What a perfect combination! Just like what I love about one's personality. That is; if I knew her that deep. The still wind began to pick up its pace; following the rhythm of the earth's gentle heartbeats. One could silently hears the flapping of a butterfly's wing beats, as much as fascinating they are. My jaws felt stiff. How should I say this; speechless? Boring in her eyes, they show amusement, so as her welcoming mood she is in. Rarity of a well-spoken animal is quite high; what more a cat. Nothing is at its emotions from the way I look up to her. For had I been in conversation with myself, had I not replied her question of curiosity. " Unfamiliarity are not that bad, now. One could bound to invite new friends to their hearts; who would know" My oh my. I did not even spoke in that manner before. Must be my mood today. Speaking in sense, it is not like everyday do I manage to start a chat or a few with someone. Not do I realize what is around me, but is it just me or is the woods still at its deathbed? Hmm. They must be watching us, for sure. No one could call a forest silent. Not when I live in these parts of the lands. Then again, I had been talking to myself mentally. How ridiculous of me. If the fellow stranger were to know about my daily job; which is is what I am doing right now. She would obviously made fun of me. No one has the mind set of mine. Haha. Well now, I need to start another chat with her. " Mind if I ask for your name?" Well, my name is Velovia. Oh dear, there I go again. With my mental friend again. Urgh. Someone tell me I must be going loony. Author's Note: Naw, I don't mind if your post is short. In fact, it is fairly alright :] Well, I should be the one apologizing for my silly post I just made currently. -lostofmuse- ( ^^ );[/ul]

"Unfamiliarity are not that bad, now. One could bound to invite new friends to their hearts; who would know."
Amaranth smirked at the cat's words. She'd known him for a mere ten seconds and he was speaking prophetically to her - however, it was nothing but amusing to the old she-cat.
There was a brief pause from the stranger. His gaze began to drift away from the attachment of hers, and she could almost see the various thoughts running through his mind. He was clearly being consumed by his own subconscious speech. "Mind if I ask for your name?" he finally continued.
She nodded. "I'm Amaranth. As you probably can tell, I'm a loner." A smile lit up on her maw. "And it's not every day that I get to meet someone new. Who are you?"
She shifted on the ground, settling herself among the heat and humidity of greenleaf. Glancing around, her vivid sapphire eyes admired the dazzlingly blue sky, snow-white clouds scattered across the cerulean ocean. Comfortably cool breezes blew gently against her reddish-orange pelt, ruffling the wirehaired fur. The trees were coated with neon green leaves like feathers on the birds that chortled in the branches. Greenleaf was truly glorious. And, without required tasks and responsibility weighing her down like the poor Clan cats, she and every other loner could experience it more than anyone.
A purr rumbling from within her throat, Amaranth returned her interest to the stranger.

x...Velovia ...x All around us, nature is telling us a story of the old o - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Mood: Amused ", I greeted with a smile. What else is there to speak to this guest. Hmm, my interests? No. I deny on that. Or else, I might be looked at to be weird and unreal. Mistakes are always what troubles me. Urgh. My paws are aching from this standing position I am at. Hard and bare the earth is, I tried shifting my paws a little at a time. Unfortunately, I failed. ... Fine then. If that's the case, I'll just sit down. I loosen up my firmness on my legs. I swear, that I'll do something about soreness; someday. Jeez. Wait. I must have been ignoring her. Hehe. That's silly of me Vel... very silly... Whatever. " Um, so do you wander around much Amaranth?", I asked keeping my calm posture. I will not ruin this conversation. Like what I just result in speaking to other felines. Perhaps it is my eyes? Eep. Not about them again. However, this fellow feline manage to avoid any conclusion about my eyes; maybe. Hmm. She indeed is interesting... A scent of prey alerted my system. It smelt warm, sweet and horrifically appetizing. How... very... delightful... No. Snap out of it! You just had your breakfast not long ago. If I remember correctly, I had... wait. I didn't had any. Jeez. Me and my memories are really a trouble these days. It is seriously annoying. [/ul] Author's Note: I'm teeerribly sorry for this short and incomplete post! I just had no muse lately. But I need to reply to this post soon enough, so I tried. And wozah. It turned bad -sighs-

[that's okay. I just realized that I didn't edit the first post, and it was from a different site, so it says that she's in Sylvan Hills and it's all misty and un-summer-y. xD -edited that-]
"I'm Velovia. As you could see, I too am a loner. So we could say we're on the same level."
Amaranth purred.
"Um, so do you wander around much Amaranth?"
For a moment, Velovia seemed distracted. When she scented the air, she could see why: the mouthwatering scent of plump greenleaf prey wafted around her. But she ignored it, not wanting to be rude and avert her attention to something else.
"Yes," she replied simply. "If I want to, I stay in one place. But sometimes I enjoy exploring new places." She stretched her forelegs out in front of her, arching her back in a luxurious stretch. "What about you? What brought you to this area?"
No matter how much she tried to focus on her new company, the smell of prey didn't leave her. Perhaps soon, they could go hunting. It certainly helped when you had another cat helping you.

x...Velovia ...x All around us, nature is telling us a story of the old o - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Mood: Amused; content [/s] What brought to this area? I guess I was curious at your scent. It is not likely to encounter a knew stranger. Most of them are rogues. Frightfully, they are. Their eyes only shows anger and a dark soul that blackens their core. Oh, how glad I am not to find you being one, Amaranth. " I guess, I got curious of your scent. It's not everyday I come across a new stranger." I wonder how my family are doing. I hope their health is at the fullest. Even though they abandon me, I still feel it's foolish to keep this anger. I mean, thanks to them, I grew up to be independent. Not like those house cats where they simply rely on their owners. Hmph. How disgusting. Then again, I can't blame them fully. They had been grown to be with their owners. Just like I had with this forest. By then, my jaws are earning to clump onto some prey. Of course, the prey I had scented out earlier. Maybe I could hunt with her. I might be able to test her hunting skills. Though, she looks fit enough. A ripple bared my body for a minute there. What's this? Maybe it's just my muscles. They tend to have a mind on their own sometimes. Strange, isn't it?[/ul]
