The golden orb of sun was at its highest point, centered in the clear blue sky. Barely visible in the distance were the slight shadows of thunderheads rolling in, a good promise of rain. The temperature was very high, probably around 95 degrees in human terms. Everything looked slightly blurry because of the heat waves; they obscured most of the objects in the clearing that held the gushing waters of the river. The water was cool and crystal clear, surprisingly full.
Hidden in the shadows of a large willow tree was a fair sized grey and black cat laying on her side, stretched out in the cool grass. The scene was magical. Her outstretched paw twitched slightly as she ran through the terrain of her dream world, chasing another cat towards the river. They were just playing, though. The other cat was named Ashstar, the missing leader of RiverClan. Ashstar jumped nimbly into the river, diving down into the depths of the cool water. She laughed and jumped in after her, propelling down where she thought her leader had disappeared to. She swam and swam in search of her, some part of her heart telling her that Ashstar was gone. Black spots began filling her gaze as she stayed under longer, using up her last stores of oxygen. She swam upward towards the bright sunlight, her lungs bursting in search of air. Then her legs went numb and she couldn't move. She fell deeper and deeper, crying out a surge of glittering bubbles.
She jerked upright, her eyes wide and her body tense. She blinked, looking around to check her surroundings. 'It was just a dream..' she comforted herself, her breathing slowing a bit after a few moments. But it had just seemed so real! And the part with Ashstar was heart-breaking. She tugged her thoughts away from the disturbing dream, not wanting to think about the possibilities it had. Her ears twitched as she heard the pawsteps of another approaching.. [/blockquote] |

Moonshade smelled a cat ahead. Moonshade was almost wet with sweat, if it wouldnt dry. A bit to hot for this cat's likeing. She smelled a fear scent layered with the scent of a riverclan cat, (name?).
Moonshade padded up, "is there anything wrong?" she asked. Ashstar already disapeared, Riverclan didnt need a battle or anything! Moonshade dropped the fish she was carrying. Sh ewanted to eat in shade, but since riverclan territory was only dotted with trees, near water will just have to. "Would you like to share?"
