None of it seemed right, Ashstar wasn't supposed to disappear, she was supposed to stay and lead Riverclan, die fighting for her clan in battle, not out there somewhere where nobody knew, they could not even bury their leader properly. She quickly pulled away from the moss. "Why?!" She cried. She fell to her side and sat in silence with her nose buried in her head thinking about all the good times she shared with Ashstar. Why did it all have to happen so sudden? She was now left with a mourning clan to lead, but that clan was her clan, Riverclan. Picking her head up she took a deep breath. She would never let Riverclan fall, why would she have been chosen as deputy if Ashstar didn't think she would be a good leader. Deep down she knew Ashstar would want her to lead Riverclan, as she could trust her too. Seeing her in Starclan was a very painful thing, it confirmed that the she-cat was in fact dead, she would have to tell the clan. She would tell them before choosing the new deputy, they deserved to know. But who would be the new deputy? So many questions buzzed through her head and she let out a long sigh. Getting up she pushed her nose into the moss one last time before picking it up, and taking it out in to the forest. Laying the moss on the ground she began to dig a small hole, and in that small hole she dropped the moss, it wasn't Ashstar, but it would have to do. "I miss you, Riverclan will never forget the great leader that you were Ashstar." She meowed quietly. She quickly covered in the hole before she had time to start crying again, touching her nose to the make do grave of Ashstar's she padded deeper in to the forest, to get some fresh dry moss for her den. She picked up clumps of dry moss in her maw and carried them back to camp with her. Spreading the clumps out in her den she began to look around her den, it was her's now. She would sleep here alone every night. She had been so used to always sleeping with a group of cats each night. She felt like wailing all over again, but managed to hold it in, maybe she could ask Serenechaos to stay with her tonight, or one of her friends from the warriors den. She looked up as she heard a cat approaching.[/ul]

Dusk was just falling; the sky was made up of a vibrant shade of violet, the beautiful faces of Silverpelt shining down clearly. It was truly a beautiful night. The sorrow that was spread throughtout the Clan only made it more tremendous. The muffled cries of warriors, apprentices, kits, and elders mixed with the calm, serene night made it one of the most beautiful things this world had to offer.
Alone sat a dark figure in the middle of the camp, her head drooped low and a tiny puddle of tears below it. She had cried those tears. They were for Ashstar, the missing leader of RiverClan. Her ears twitched slightly as she saw a creamy white figure walk past with a load of moss; Ashstar's moss. She waited and watched as she re-entered the mourning camp. Getting herself some fresh bedding, I suppose, she thought to herself. Rosestar went on to her den, and she saw her lonely shadow smoothing out the moss. She couldn't bear watching her feel so alone; she could tell by her body language.
Her paws where soft as she padded over to the dark den, lowering her head slightly as she went through the entrance. She smiled at Rosestar, hoping to lift her spirits a small fraction. "Hello, Rosestar. Are you getting settled in okay? Do you need anything?" Hey, she was there. Why not offer her services to her new leader? [/blockquote]

she meowed croaking a little, the lump that was stuck in her throat would not budge. "Well, I just, would you keep me some company tonight?" She meowed. [/ul]

Her head had fallen slightly to the side in wonder, her mind searching for the reason to the she-cat's peculiar behavior. She shrugged to herself, in her mind of course. It must have been some state of depression or other; most had different ways of coping with loss. She herself tended to starve herself when upset; it was nothing severe, though. She took a short step forward, and then one back, not completely sure of what to do. Normally, she was an expert on helping or comforting others, but this case completely baffled her, for some odd reason. "Of course!" she replied a bit too eagerly, a smile spreading across her face.
She looked around the den for the first time in wonder, imagining if it would be any different sleeping in here instead of the regular warriors' den. She raised her paw and let it gently touch the stone wall as if she would break it at the slightest pressure. She lowered it, letting it slide down the smooth structure in awe. She then raised her vivid green eyes to the ceiling; a few wondrous stalagmites hung from it. They were tinted a slight brown color, but were still pretty transparent. She looked back down at Rosestar, the two green gazes meeting. "I would be honored," she whispered excitedly. [/blockquote]

Moonshade stuck her nose into the den. Two cats were in there, her leader and a warrior. Lifting her head from the distant scents of her long gone leader, moonshade padded oto the freshkill pile. moonshade was quite sure that Rosestar had not eaten yet, she has been spending her day alone. padding in moonshade meowed, "i hope i am not inturupting anything," she meowed, dropping the prey, "you must be hungry." moonshade flinched. Ashstar's scent drifted though the cold air. Moonshade thought she saw Ashstar's face printed all over the walls. Moonshade bowed her head. turning slowly she mewed, "sleep well" Moonshade wondered whether or not she was smalling Rosestar or Ashstar drifting from the cat behind her. A hot tear ran down Moonshade's Face.
