Running had long been a pleasure of Nightoom’s. The rhythm of paws meeting earth, the rapid intake of breath as the body pushes itself beyond its worldly limits. She cascaded down the wind swept territory of her clan, letting her muscles stretch their new freedom. She needed something. She didn’t know what it was but she needed to do something. To do something defiant, rash, life threatening. Something to wake her out of this haze that seemed to plague her every step, even infecting the simple joy of running. Running without a purpose? She needed to see something grand. As she ran through the barren slopes, a scent slipped its way into her nostrils. Windclan. She veered her course slightly in the direction, wondering who was near by.

Songwind was resting near the Starlit Hill, glaring at the sky absentmindedly. He was hoping nobody from WindClan would loom by this area, considering that he was rather avoiding his clanmates. He was meant to bring his daily ration of prey but with the weather being so grim, he had been hopelessly unlucky. Plus, everybody else had formed patrols and he had been morbidly left out, so he had been overpassed by the rest of her 'friends'. Sighing at this remembrance, he remained in his idle position.
Just then, her hears caught the sound of bramble cracking. His head tilted and he saw his clanmate, Nightmoon, approaching. Oh fruck! Songwind though. He rapidly stood up and pretended to be staring at the bushes. Nightmoon had also acknowledged his presence. 'Oh hello Nightmoon!' Songwind said, literally screaming. 'How-How is it going? I'm just hanging around here, hunting, you know...'

Nightmoon grinned politely at Songwind, not really sure of what to say by his abrupt appearance. 'Oh hello' she saluted, glancing sideways. 'Yeah I was just... You know, taking a morning jog and stuff.' She felt intimidated by the awkward silence and by the fact that she barely knew her clanmate. It was quite silly actually; they both had about the same age and had had training exercises together, and yet, they barely spoke. Nightmoon cleared her throat loudly in an attempt to fill the uncomfortable silence. 'Yeah so...' she began. She wanted to keep running but leaving for that reason would seem rude. She sighed and decided to do something she didn't do often. 'Do you mind if I, er, go hunting with you? Just for a small while... I mean, I see- erm, I see that you don't really have anything...'

Songwind stared at his paws and at Nightmoon's paws and at his tail and at the shrews in the ground, but never at Nightmoon's eyes. He didn't want to hunt with Nightmoon, for he preferred to do things alone. Yet again, if Visionstar heard he had given no prey to the clan this week, he'd get hanged. He needed at least one of his clanmates to witness that he had caught something (or at least had tried). Plus, he felt guilty that he never had bothered to befriend his clanmates, even though he had been with Nightmoon for a very long time.
'Sure, sure, why not?' he said. He ignored Nightmoon's comment. 'Shall we, erm, go this way?' He didn't wait for Nightmoon's aproval though and went down the way.

The reluctance of Songwind was evident. He wasn't even trying to hide it. Nightmoon frowned at him, upset by the fact that he didn't seem to really want to accept her invitation. I mean, it wasn't as if he was Mr. Popularity and was best friends with everybody else, in exception of her of course. She saw he didn't want to hunt with her, but needed her as an alibi when he was questioned about the non-existent ration he had to give to the clan that week. Nightmoon nearly refused and her brain began to furnish her with valid excuses. But she felt somehow guilty by doing it and decided to be nice, for once in her life.
Nightmoon noticed how Songwind wanted to lead the way and, rather than pout about it, she giggled. She waited a moment or two for Songwind to notice his mistake but the tom did not flounder. He was going north-east and away from the Starlit Hill. She increased the volume of her laughter but then decided to be more mature about it. Instead, she sat down and stared at Songwind as he trailed his way ahead. It became precarious, however, when he was going out of sight. She had to do something now.
'Songwind' she called, her voice dredged with cynicism. 'That road leads to ShadowClan. A couple of feet more and ShadowClan warriors will devour you body until it's nothing more than a speck or dust.' She let her words take effect on her smart colleage.

Songwind got paralyzed on the spot. He opened his mouth to argue at the absurdity of what Nightmoon said but closed it almost instantly. Of course... Of course, what was he thinking! He was heading straight to the ShadowClan camp. He had completely forgotten where he was because he was so concentrated on lying to Nightmoon. He closed his eyes, his back still facing the she-cat. Reluctantly, he turned around, his eyes barely open. 'Yes, you're right.' He mumbled. He could see the antipathy in Nightmoon's eyes and saw she understood what he was going through but didn't sympathize with it. Well, who could blame her. Songwind was using a talented warrior like her to look good in front of their leader, who probably didn't know Songwind was part of their clan. The tom sighed in anger but decided this wasn't Nightmoon's fault. She was being nice enough by spending time with her.
'I'm sorry' he said, truly apologetic. Though he seemed to be apologizing about his hopeless sense of direction, he was also apologizing for being so rude. 'You lead the way please. You know the way much better than I do.'

Nightmoon didn't expect Songwind to actually show a sign of humbleness. The sun was shining bright and as a ray grazed her face, she used it in her advantage to hide a giggle. Songwind looked very absurd accepting he had made a mistake, but apart from looking utterly ludicrous, he actually seemed cute. And regretful. Nightmoon shook her head at him in an act of pity, which probably seemed really rude if he hadn't seen her smile. But well, she wasn't just about to forgive him that easily. The femcat snorted and elevated her tail. 'I thought so' she said, her voice stern. 'Come on, follow me.' She headed to the road that lead back to the camp, knowing it deviated at some point and then proceeded to a clearing satiated with prey. Not many knew about it but it was one of the only remaining spots in the forest where the prey was not scarce, at least not yet. She waited for Songwind to catch up and then decided to make small talk, just for the sake of it. 'So... How's your mom?' she asked, her mind idle. She wasn't sure what to talk about and that seemed like the most appropriate topic.

Songwind frowned at Nightmoon's question. He was unsure of how to answer and a rapid wave of emotions went through him. He felt anger for Nightmoon not knowing about his roots and asking this unsensible question. He felt more anger when he thought about Nightmoon knowing about his history but just making fun of him for no particular reason. Then he felt confusion, wondering which of the two Nightmoon was doing. Finally he felt glory, knowing this was the perfect opportunity to embarass her.
'My mom's fine' he replied, his voice hinting arrogance. 'She's probably enjoying herself in StarClan.' He let his words sunk in the she-cat, then remained silent for an extra dramatic effect. He let himself the priviledge of a small smile, knowing Nightmoon, as a typical femine, would be startled by the crudeness of her sentence and let Songwind lead the way (even though, he had admitedly screwed up at the beginning).
((dat is niet grappig. en ik weet, je bent een eizel! xD jk, ik hou van jou *knuffel*))

Duskgaze padded out of camp. A warm breeze ruffled his long white fur. What should I do? he thought to himself. He was bored, he hadn't been chosen for any patrols. His dark gaze looked around the territory. He opened his mouth, scenting for prey or fellow clanmates, one in particular. The sweet distinct scent of Nightmoon met him. A wide grin spread across his maw. He turned himself towards the scent. "Now to go talk to her" he mewed, love on his mind. He raced after her scent. His large white paws hitting the ground in a rhythmic fashion. He was gaining speed and fast. He was rather large for a WindClan cat but had the speed. He skidded to a halt just outside the hidden clearing. He peered through the bush, his dark and lavender gaze resting on Nightmoon. He took a moment to catch his breath. He padded through the bushes. He smiled at Nightmoon, not noticing Songwind. "Hello Nightmoon" he mewed flirtily. ((Now flirtily is a word ))

Nightmoon raised her eyebrow in an ethereal (and upside down) V, surprised by how contemptuous Songwind seemed to be by her question. She then realized her mistake, by recalling the fact that Songwind's mother was dead and she hadn't even met her, as Songwind wasn't clanborn. Thankfully, the sun's rays scraped her face at that moment, giving her the opportunity to scowl at herself for her fatal aberration. How could she have been so tactless?! Why had she started a conversation about Songwind's family?! She knew little about him and yet, she decided to talk about his grim past because she had been busy swelling in felicity after his shameful moment. Oh dear, what was she going to say now? She could apologize for asking such a private and harmful question, but she decided against it. Songwind wasn't even offended about had she had done. He was enjoying it, glad he had something to use against her. Nightmoon nearly spit at him but controlled the urge. After all, it was her who had given it to him. She decided to be natural about it and pretend she asked that question to everybody.
'I hope she is' she answered, winking. 'My mom has been quite happy as well. I had a dream with her the other night and she seemed fine. She told me to take care of myself, the clan, to keep my den tidy... You know, the usual.' I'm sorry mom. Nightmoon thought to herself. This wasn't literally true, as her mom hadn't appear in any recent dreams of hers, but if she did, Nightmoon was sure she would say something like that. 'I thought that perhaps you might've had any dreams concerning your mom or something, which are always fun to share.' She smiled at him widely, defeat long gone from her eyes and with just faked veracity in her expression. 'I wonder if--' but her conversation was interrupted when another WindClanner entered the clearing. Nightmoon recognized him at once: It was Duskgaze, the strapping and handsome tom all the WindClan femcats adulated. Nightmoon had seen him only twice, but of those two times, she had to admit her fellow WindClan females weren't mistaken. He was absolutely gorgeous. On this ocasion, her opinion didn't change. Staring at him was simply marvelous. She took the pleasure of admiring his physique for a moment or two before reacting to his words.
'Hello Nightmoon'
His words resounded in her head like an exquisite and refreshing waterfall. She tried to not smile foolishly but failed in the attempt. One small smile protruded in her closed mouth, which she instantly removed. She couldn't help but notice that he hadn't saluted Songwind. She felt a bit sorry for the poor tom and his rough social life, but the pity was long forgotten when she noticed he had greeted her. Nightmoon sighed at her infantile crush but was nevertheless polite. 'Hello Duskgaze' she replied with all the courage she could master. 'Want to join us on a hunt?'

Duskgaze stared at the beautiful she-cat. She was absolutely gorgeous, every feature perfect. He had seen many toms eyes on her, she was special. He was determined to make her his mate. The thoughts wirring in his head were broken by her reply. "I'd love to go hunting with you" he mewed. He nodded in greeting to Songwind.

Nightmoon couldn't help but grin widely after the tom's response, letting him see a large set of shining teeth. Her tail recoiled in her back as her hormones went literally mad for the affection of the handsome tom. She sighed at how childish her body was and how little control she had over it. But oh well, she'd just have to hope her pubescent reactions won't make a fool of herself. She nodded eagerly and stepped foward. 'Should we begin here?' she wondered, idly glarind at Songwind. The tom seemed to be stupefied, perhaps also because of Duskgaze. She giggled at him but softly grazed his shoulder with her tail. 'Songwind' she whispered, trying to wake up the tom from his trance. She rolled her eyes in exasperation and decided to take charge. 'Perhaps we should go in pairs' she suggested. 'Maybe you two can go together and I can go alone... Or would you like it different?'
ooc; thornpaw, reply!

Duskgaze studied the beautiful she-cat. He listened as her words floated to him like music. He listened to her questions, knowing the answers immediately. Still, he thought for a moment. "Perhaps we could go together" he mewed.
