OOC: CD, I'm pretty sure that on-campus attacks by dogs and such are planned by the admins... I'll go along with it, though, as long as we don't involve other people's cats. Unless they join the post. Than they can participate or tell us that we're dumb for having a dog attack the camp, lol.
IC:
A onyx black she-cat crept out of the warrior's den, a yawn on her face. How has it gotten so late? she wondered, feeling the harsh, cold rain beat down on her pelt. After stretching shortly and shaking feeling into her still-sleeping paws, the she-cat miserably walked over to the freshkill pile. All the prey was soggy, but she was used to such things, being forced to choose prey last and things of the like. But she thought nothing of it as she nosed through, looking for something drier. When she had almost given up completley, an apprentice pranced over with what she thought was a warm vole, probably from the land ThunderClan had given ShadowClan so long ago. After he'd went away to hide from the rain in the apprentice's den, she picked it up in her jaws, only to find it filled with maggots. Sputtering and hissing quietly, she dropped it to the ground and peeked over her shoulder in the direction of laughter. The apprentice and his friends where thrilled she'd fallen for their dirty trick, as they knew that she'd do nothing about it. Sighing, she dug a hole in the ground and shoved it inside and covered the hole. She wasn't suprised that this had happened to her- it seemed to be the start of some more new things the hate-filled apprentices and their mentors had up their sleeves.
Saddended, Berryfrost squinted her eyes, looking around the camp, and spotted her friend, Blackrose.
The she-cat trotted across the clearing, punctured pride and all, to where the other black she-cat was crouched, her ginger markings darkened by the rain. Berryfrost sat next to her and flicked her tail over Blackrose's ear. What, may I ask, are you doing, Blackrose? Berryfrost mewed into her friend's ear. The other she-cat seemed transfixed on the bush in front of her. Berryfrost turned her purple eyes to the bush and scruntinized it closely. It seemed to quake a little bit, and not from the rain. Frowning, the she-cat leaned closer. Dog, her nose told her. Dog, dog, dog, dog, dog... The she-cat leapt away just in time as a brown-and-white furball leapt out of the bushes and landed on Blackrose. All Berryfrost could do was watch in horror as her friend struggled under the dog's grip, trying to bite the dog's neck. Berryfrost, finally unfrozen from momentary shock, leapt onto the dog's back, digging her claws into it's flesh. The dog yelped, momentarily distracted from it's prey, and snapped it's flashing white teeth at the annoying pest on it's back. Berryfrost yowled and slashed a free, unsheathed paw across it's muzzle. It yelped and for an instant looked like it might run away, but instead proceded to snap at Berryfrost, abandoning Blackrose on the ground. The dog spun around in a circle, trying to shake Berryfrost off. H... Help, Blackrose! Berryfrost screeched at her friend just before the dog rolled over, crushing her with it's massive weight.
The she-cat's amythest eyes widened in horror as she watched a brown spot come closer and closer to her face in slow motion. She leapt swiftly out from under the dog, who landed hard, with an umph. The she-cat crouched low to the ground and hissed, ears pinned back, eyes narrowed to sharp slits. Filthy dog, she spat angerly, racing forward to slash at it's tender belly. However, the dog was also fast-thinking, and eluded her attack by rolling again, away from the spitting feline. It snapped it's slavering jaws, emmiting a low growl from deep inside it's throat. Berryfrost let out a growl of her own, followed by the loud snap of her jaws as she threatened in dog-language Go away or perish! At least that's what she thought snapping jaws and growling meant. She was pretty sure, though. Millie, a cat who had helped Graystar find his way home (though he was Graystripe at the time) had stayed with ThunderClan and taught the cats to speak some dog. Berryfrost had learnt it from the day she was a kit- her mother had been very protective of her and Solareclipse.
