DapplePool padded up her apprentice Fishpaw was behind her. She was going to be giving him a lesson on how to fish today. He was going along with huting regular pray fine though they needed to work a bit on his hunters crouch, and fishing and a lot on his fighting skills. Soon they would have another DapplePool in the group. Padding up the river she turned to her apprentice before slowly showing him what to do."Now to catch a fish you need to make sure it doesn't see you shadow like so" she said demonstarting. Seeing a fish she quickly put her paw in the river and scooped it up and into her mouth killing it with one swift bite. "Just like so if how you catch a fish" she said smiling at her apprentice.

Icepaw watched in wonder. He already had figured out about the shadow, but he admired the ease with which she scooped out the fish. He looked down at the fish, but none were close enough to the surface to reach, so he jumped in. He reappeared a few seconds later with a fish in his mouth and pride in his eyes.
"It was sleeping at the bottom." he explained, "And it woke up when I jumped in, but I snagged it with one claw and sat on it in the bottom of the river. Then I brought it up. I could've done liek you did and stayed dry, but I don't have the patience. Is it bad? I mean, I DID scare the other fish off. How do the warriors do that without scaring off fish?"
Although he had never seen a warrior do this, he felt that they must.

'WAIT FOR ME!' A blur of blueish-gray fur announced the arrival of Tidepaw. Her bright blue eyes were wide and happy. The motormouth apprentice didn't have a mentor, so she didn't even know that if you scare away prey, you won't be able to catch any. 'I want to catch some fish! I love fish! I tried some from the fresh-kill pile yesterday, and I really liked it! It was all slimy and sort of mouse-tasting but it was like frogs aswell but I havn't ever tasted frogs.' Tidepaw rushed out, her bushy blue-gray tail flicking happily.
'Do ShadowClan eat fish? Or ThunderClan, or WindClan? How can they live without fish? I mean its really nice, as I already said, but now I want to catch one!' Tidepaw always talked in an ungrammical fashion. 'Can I swim? I don't know how to swim or to dive or anything... How do Twolegs do it?' Tidepaw mewed, etching closer to the water.

"Hello, Tidepaw." murmured Fishpaw in a quiet, friendly, fashion.
"You'll yhave to keep back from the water's edge and stay quiet or the fish will notice you. You can have this fish I caught if it's OK with DapplePool."
