O Fortuna,
You watch as I burn
But hide my pain with the murderous humanity
That you have cursed me with
Your mercy is the worst kind of suffering
As I am your assasin of tranquility
Forced to do your bidding
As a slave of this mortal world
O Fortuna
Silenced beneath the sodden moon as pawprints embed the sorrowful earth. The merciful lies of sunlight shatter the bare strands of thought that dare intrude into the paranoid state that he lay in. No torture could ever do this suffering justice. Never.
Auburn fur lay blending with the dew-stained grass as strained ears listened for the creeping danger that he knew only too well was never there. Pointless habit was overcoming him as his eyes flickered from one place to another in frantic dashes. The landscape was familiar but so alien in this warped world of darkness...
Breathe, you stupid furball. The words of his 'blessed' childhood, the siblings who never understood. Like the fairytale presence of a dream after waking, it seemed to be forever blurring, but the pain just grew sharper. How could he breathe in this terrifying condition of insomnia? The limits of his feeble feline mind were the claustrophobia he didn't fight, and beneath the lumber of this... this monster destroying everything he ever thought he could have.
He waited for the sun, just like any other night. Everyone knew his state, and they were ashamed of him. He couldn't blame them - the despicable wreck that stumbled in every dawn was hardly something to be proud of. At least, he couldn't say he was proud of himself.
