"Good morning!" Cried an excited meow. Flightkit darted into the Elder's Den. It was empty, alone but for the small nest of moss in the far corner. There, nestled amongst withered roots of the Great Sycamore, lay a sandy-colored tomcat. He glanced up, his sky-blue eyes twinkling with amusement. He uncurled himself, stretched, and rotated around to face the sole kit. Following Flightkit's eager bound into the den came Drearypaw. He was a dusky brown-grey tom, with dark brown eyes. He was often in a sulk, though the old tomcat saw the apprentice's eyes brighten when a story was told. Next came the deputy, Minktail. She was smiling casually, though she bounded eagerly up to the old tomcat, clearly excited. "What is the story today?" she asked quietly. The old tomcat ignored her as the final cat approached. Her name was Rainpaw. She was most enthusiastic and energetic of all his listeners. "I thought we could start with a story of my history." the old tomcat stated. Minktail pulled into a frowned face, Drearypaw groaned, Flightkit fell silent and still, and Rainpaw's eyes lost their twinkle. "But Storyteller!" cried Flightkit at last. "I'm only joking!" Storyteller cried. "I shall tell you another tale." The cats returned to their normal states of happiness. "I shall tell you all a tale." Storyteller began...

"Long ago there was one Clan. It was -" "Only one?" Flightkit seemed surprised. "Yes. As I was saying, it -" "But there must be more than one! There have always been four!" Storyteller frowned at the kits remark. "Well, in this place, Flightkit, there was only one." He nodded, and the poor kit looked as if he were about to cry. "As I was saying. The one Clan was known as OneClan." Drearypaw snorted. Storyteller glared at him, yet continued. "OneClan consisted of many cats. Shall I name them all for you?" "Yes!" Rainpaw cried out excitedly. "Alright." Storyteller nodded and purred in delight.

" The leader was called Tigerstar." "Tigerstar was an evil cat!" Flightkit hollered, his fur bristling. Drearypaw rolled his eyes. "This is a new Tigerstar. Her original name was Tigermud, yet she was now leader." "The leader was a girl!?!" Flightkit's eyes went wide with shock. Drearypaw sneered. "Hey! What is so wrong with being a girl?" Rainpaw asked. "Everything." Drearypaw mumbled, and Rainpaw shot him a glare. "Settle down!" Minktail hollered, and the room fell silent. "Anyway. Tigerstar was leader. She was a beautiful dirt-brown she-cat with mud-brown stripes. She had a soft blue gaze. Her sister, Flowerpetal, was deputy. She was mud-brown with dirt-brown spots, and olive eyes. Snowlily was their medicine cat, an off-white she-cat with grey spots on several places. Her tail, head, etc." "The girls had the power!" Rainpaw yelled happily. "In a way." Storyteller settled her. "The medicine cat apprentice was a boy. A handsome tom named Icepaw. He was white with black paws, tail-tip and ears."
