Only one cat was inside the medicine cat's den at that moment, and it was none other than the medicine cat herself. Busily she examined each of her stores, the sweet taste of catmint lingering in her mouth from the bundle she had just gathering and placed. Looks all good. she mused. Her store of herbs was doing fine considering the time of year. Still, the plants she currently had stocked were, though numerous, pretty fragile and weak at best. The frost had continued with it's yearly routine of irritating medicine cats around the lake by killing off perfectly good herbs. Just barely had she managed to collect everything worth collecting before the frost had gotten to work.
Now the frost was beginning to succumb to the warmth of newleaf. Solely for this reason had she been capable of replenishing her catmint with a few more pitiful leaves. Things like marigold and juniper berries still had some major growing to do before she could harvest them, so the cats of WindClan would just have to deal with stomach aches for a while and pray that minor cuts did not get infected. With a sigh of content she decided to leave her stores alone and turn her attention to waiting for something to do, letting her pale blue eyes focus on the narrow entrance she had passed through moments ago. Pure white tail curled around her petite paws and she let herself relax a little.
The life of a medicine cat could be quite the dull one to lead at times such as then, when no cats were ailing or wounded and she had no need to run and fetch this herb or that berry. However her boredom was soon broken as her snowy ears pricked at a sound outside her den. Had she just heard pawsteps at the entrance to her abode? The she-cat had been mistaken before. The only thing for Icepool to do was wait. How tedious.

OoC: Awesome! Hey, would you by any chance be a member of another Warriors RPG known as Hidden Clans?

ooc; Hidden Clans? I've seen its banner but I've never joined it, sorry.
ic; Little did the medicine cat know about the danger concealed within the plants. The shrews, vines, ferns, and sprouts that besieged the Medicine Cat's den began quivering as a sleek feline made her way into the WindClan camp. Her eyes were narrowed, making the feline look perilous. But then, when she opened them again, she looked as alluring and enchanting as she always did. The she-cat whisked the thorns from her jacket and groomed her pelt. Nightmoon had been hunting since last night and her entire body was a mess. She had been following the trace of a troop of rabbits but had lost their strain when they headed near the RiverClan river. Dissapointment was evident in her eyes but she had charisma and those rabbits weren't depressing her any longer.
Nightmoon grinned once she returned to her precious camp. Her eyes scrutinized the dens where other loyal WindClanners rested. It was incredibly fulfilling to serve these cats and all of them had an important place in her heart. After her keister had been primmed, she stood up and meandered recklessly into the depths of the moorland. Many warriors were away, probably hunting. No WindClan she-cat had mated any toms yet and, with the recently apointed deputy, Robinsong, there were scarce feminine warriors. Quite concentrated on her thoughts, Nightmoon did not notice when she she bumped into Icepool's den. 'Icepool!' Nightmoon said, the impact skimming her from her heed. She bowed respectfully at the Medicine Cat and sat near her den. 'Good Morning'.

Icepool watched as a warrior bumped into her den, whisker twitching in amusement. "Good morning Nightmoon." she purred in response, dipping her head slightly in a greeting. "How's the prey running?" Warm yet icy blue eyes looked the femme over; she did not appear injured, so the medicine decided that this was naught but a friendly chat. Of course visual only told of wounds or limps. A stomachache or cough was not something you could see unless the cat had a look of pain or actually coughed. But Icepool, being an optimist, did not think of the warrior before her as anything but healthy.
"Well, I suppose I should ask how it's running considering that it is currently leafbare." she added thoughtfully. Not only herbs were affected by frost; prey liked to hide during cold days such as that one. It made things difficult for the whole Clan, for all four, even. WindClan had the advantage of few places for prey to hide, but even so the frost surely made hunting difficult for any warrior, even the most skillful and cunning cat. "The weather lately is most certainly a hinderance." [/size][/blockquote]

Nightmoon’s grimace partly answered her question. ‘You are not aware of how accurate your assert is’ she replied wearily. ‘Prey is getting every time harder to find. Leafbare has abolished all the creatures that lived in the moorland. All have been petrified away and have gone into burrows too narrow for us cats to reach. Not only that, because of the lack of botany in our territory, we have found dead rabbits, slaughtered by the oppressive cold.’ The femcat hesitated and her almond-shaped eyes surged over the plants she had just been, as if expecting her words would sooth their mourning. But no, it was useless to keep chanting their anguish. ‘I just hope Newleaf recedes upon us soon, or else, all the clans will go on a crisis.’ Nightmoon concluded, the tone of her voice gradually rising.
The she-cat flinched on her seat. Snow was mantling her coat and, in spite of the alluring appearance it granted her, it made her feel colder. ‘Would you mind if I come in?’ she asked Icepool bashfully, unlike her extrovert nature. She respected Medicine Cats quite too much for an average warrior, but it was something she was not shameful of. The traverse of life had taught Nightmoon to be thankful and she always brandished her grate with no fear or regret. But asking a Medicine Cat so recognized like Icepool was something she considered embarrassing, for she respected her too much to ask her such thing.

Spiceholly's sleek outline began grazing the trees. The she-cat leapt from the mangle of herbs and started towards the Windclan camp, clumsily. She noticed that one of her good friends, Nightmoon, was having a pleasant chat with the clan's medicine cat, Icepool. Spiceholly sometimes envied Icepool's life, for she usually never had to do anything. But, as a warrior, you had to hunt, and hunting was complicated, specially during Leafbare. Oblivious to Icepool, Spiceholly meandered towards Nightmoon. "Nightmoon, hi!" the she-cat saluted, jaunty to her best friend.

Nightmoon's head careened once Spiceholly's voice incised her ears. 'Hello' she replied, and in the warrior's contrast, her voice was monotonous and stale. Her head drifted again, this time attempting a polite bow. But her body did not budge. Fatigue overwhelmed the smile Nightmoon gave to Spiceholly as she lied down on the grass again. 'Where have you been all afternoon? I have not heart of you since... Well... Ages...' Her voice withered in unison with her neck, which dropped to the ground. Nightmoon yawned again, then stared at Icepool again. Expectance was in her eyes as she hoped her glorified Medicine Cat would answer her question.

"Scarce prey? Don't worry." He meowled, dragging a brace of conies [haha I shall not say either rabbits or hares!] in. "I just dug up a few rabbit-holes. There's plenty still under ground." He knew he was beign a show-off...but it was so much fun to be special! Especially in front of the she-cats...
[If this part with the rabbit-holes confuses you, you should read his bio...]

ooc; Lol, that was random xP -throws confetti for no reason- Yey, go Fieldstep! But meh Nightmoon is angry -shakes head in disaprival at Nightehmoon- Dx
ic; Nightmoon awknoleged Fieldstep's arrival with a curt bow. 'How is it going?' she mumbled, too tired to really care. Her eyes whelmed over the prey he had caught and rage enveloped her. 'Where did you find so many?!' she hissed, frustration looming in her eyes. Her legs held her body as she stood up, still quivering. Her eyes narrowed into slits once she relinquished her stance and sat down again. In spite of her grumpy mood, Nightmoon's alluring appeareance was still easy to be contempleated.

"oh...I'm sorry. I just...dug them up. They were ina rabbit hole right outside the camp..." he trailed off, realizing she was exhausted from fruitless hunting. "Look, " he blundered, "maybe I could show you sometime? it's really easy..." He had meant to sound less boastful, but it seemed to him that last comment had just the opposite effect.
[Heh, heh, a little drama...]

Nightmoon's bellow retounded in the rest of the camp, even thought she tried to make it as quiet as possible. 'Sure, I'll go' she replied, in spite of herself. Working was a task she currently was not able to perform. But Fieldstep was disturbing her and by going out with him was the only way of getting rid of him. As well, he was now competing with Nightmoon's prey standards, and the femcat could not stand it. However, a little part of her wanted to acompine the tom for how slightly handsome he appeared. Nightmoon stood up and bowed. 'You start first' she alleged, not a gram of insecurity or exahustation in her voice.

"Uh...now? Okay, I though maybe you'd want to rest first, but okay..." He led her out and found the nearest undug rabbit hole he could find. Then he began to feel uncertain, fearing he would be ridiculed by his uncinventional methods. "Um...ok, uh, have you ever seen a dog dig?? They just go right in like this and throw the dirt out behind them..." he began to feel thoroughly ridiculous. "But...uh...uh...you have to be guarding the other exit. May be you could do that, it's easier with two than one." His front legs were very tired already from diggint the other hole, but he wanted to convince Nightmoon that his way of getting rabbits was just a s feasible as any. He was almost to the bottom when the rabbit darted up towards the other entrance.
"It's coming!" he warned.
