r a v e n w i n g Closed off from love I didn't need the pain Once or twice was enough And it was all in vain Time starts to pass Before you know it you're frozen The night black tom was in a dream, his mind swirled with darkness. Was this Starclan's land? If so he would show them his true feelings for taking both Maskedheart and Flightbird. Looking around what looked like the island he stared thorough his blue eyes. Pupils darted here and there as he searched the clearing. Finally his eyes found a cat who seemed to just be sitting there. His eyes locked on to a silver furred she-cat with stone streaks. A spark ran thorough his body and his fur stood up. Feeling uneasy Ravenwing picked up a paw to lick at it. He sniffed the air gently it smelled like a Thunderclan cat but how could he be so sure. Why am I dreaming of this cat?
A shudder ran thorough the toms body and he opened his eyes. His breath was ragged and he looked around to see if he had awoken any other cats. Who was that cat in his dream, all he knew is he had to meet her? Picking his way thorough the Warrior's den he stepped out in to the clearing. Sniffing the area he looked around. Padding toward the dirt place so that whoever was keeping guard wouldn't see him. After sneaking thorough her made a face out how bad he smelled, spying some dirt he rolled in it before continuing padding along the moor. Looking up he saw that the moon was almost full, they should be having a gathering soon but it's not like her knew when it would be.
Raising his head Ravenwing scented the air. He was nearing the Thunderclan border. Oh, heck why did he come out here, it's not like the cat eh had been dreaming of would just pop up. Stopping next to the border he looked around before sneaking in to a bush full of juniper berries. Peeking out he sat down, curling his tail around him as he looked toward the Thunderclan wooded area. Would the silver furred she cat ever come? Maybe she wouldn't maybe she would. But he knew he just had to wait there and see for some reason. Shaking himself he picked up a paw and licked it. his ears where open to the sound of anything. A owl screeched and Ravenwing shuddered hopping something would happen soon. Something good.
But something happened For the very first time with you My heart melts into the ground Found something true And everyone's looking round Thinking I'm going crazy

You made yourself a bed at the bottom of the blackest hole and convinced yourself that it's not the reason you don't see the sun anymore.
Just getting through the day was hard. Her couple of late night escapades had taken their toll on the lean stone gray she-cat. Cleargaze fumbled around in the heat of the day, paws dragging, scraping across the dry earth of Greenleaf. She felt like she was deteriorating from the inside out. Throught the day she was flicking her tail with annoyance and her ears were back with shame as she was admionished by various cats for scaring off prey they almost had caught. Sitting down, she picked up a weary paw and lapped at it, her rough tongue rasping on the callused paw pads. Even on the inside, her thoughts weren't in unimpaired focus. Clouds of curiosity, wonder, and apprehension drifted over her mind, casting shadows on her everyday actions.
From behind her sightless eyes, a slide show played continually. It was memories of the soot-pelted, aberrant cat from her dream by the lake. They adhered with her like a thorn in her paw. She needed to meet him. It was need so strong it felt as if Starclan itself was urging her on. It seemed like such a prolonged wait since the last Gathering, which would be her sole hope of meeting the raven-colored cat, as he obviously wasn't in Thunderclan. Cleargaze let a sigh escape her chest, hoping that the moon was somewhere near full. If only she could see for herself.
Darkness soon covered the lands like a blanket, and Cleargaze once again, could not sleep. A cool breeze accompanied the night, blowing her fur in all directions. Slowly she padded to the entrance of the camp, as if she thought that if she walked slower, the night would pass faster. Her mind was impossible puzzle, just a jumble of pieces she couldn't seem to put together. She wanted answers, and she wanted them now. Under her feet she could feel the transfer from the grass and dirt of the camp to the leaf-covered forest floor. She picked up speed, her paws moving in a blur. Breathing in deeply, she could smell Windclan cat, and it was strong. She turned slightly dashing in the direction of the fresh scent. She recognized it, as there was no way she could forget a scent so glorious. It was him. The cat from her dream. And she was determined to meet him. No matter what she had to do.
Rushing, she barreled into the clearing, only to be stopped by a some unknown object. Flipping over him, Cleargaze landed hard on her back, knocking the breath from her lungs. Eyes closed, she took the few seconds to regain it. She sniffed the air, still not opening her blind eyes. He was here. In this very clearing. Then, embarrast, she brought her paw to her nose, sniffing her leg, which was throbbing from hitting against the shape in the dark. It too smelled like him. That had been what she had run into. Her ears flicked back with shame, and she quickly got to her feet. She had finally met him. But not the way she would have liked, but she had met him.

r a v e n w i n g Cold air frosted across the back of the ebony tom. The nights were growing colder but it wasn't just the nights getting colder the days were too. leaf-bare had come and the tom greatly wished that he had been born with long fur. Now trees barely had leaves if any at all. Frost lay across the moor in the morning and it stung at the pads of Ravenwing. Sitting there now he leaned from one leg to another. Flicking his tail lightly he jumped when the hoot of another owl brought him from his dreams. Padding back and forth to warm up his muscles the tom gently sat down hating the cold earth that made him wince. Concentrating hard on a tree in front of him so that he wouldn't get scared again he sniffed. Ravenwing's eye were getting teary and finally he remembered to blink. Sniffling he put his tail to his nose and shuddered as he waited silently. Maybe he would just go back and curl up in his nest? Oh wouldn't that be cozy. Maybe he would wait just a bit longer and then leave. Who knew but Ravenwing simply stayed put.
Flicking his ears back and forth he caught a sound. Gently raising his head up he sniffed the air with curiosity. He could smell strong Thunderclan scent, but wouldn't that just be cause he was practically on top of the warrior. Turning his head he listened to were the sound was coming from. It sounded like a warrior running. His eyes grew wide as he panicked not knowing what to do. Freezing on the spot his tail stood straight up. His head turned fast as he tried to figure out where to go and what to do.
Wind was sucked from Ravengwing' lungs as something barreled into him and toppled over him. Struggling to catch his breath Ravenwing stood up only to fall down from dizziness. Slowly Ravenwing breathed in and out before looking up. There was the she-cat he had been dreaming about, she smelled so much like Thunderclan that Ravenwing couldn't help but crinkle his nose. Suddenly he looked at the she-cat hopping she hadn't seen, but it looked like her eyes were glazed with no pupil. Ravenwing let in a slow intake but suddenly stopped. Did it really truly matter that she was blind? She could be just a better warrior then Ravenwing himself. Ravenwing curled his tail around him not knowing what to say. "Ummm, uh-uh, I-I'm R-raven-wing." He stuttered not knowing really what to say. This was forbidden anyways it was not allowed that to cats from different clans be meeting each other. Only medicine cats were allowed to do this. Muttering that he was mouse-brained he waited not knowing what to do as the cold frost breezed over his pelt.

c l e a r g a z ePlease speak softly, for they will hear us.Silence enveloped the two cats as they sat there, one, the cat as black as pitch awaiting a reply, and the gray one with icy blue marbles for eyes just sitting there, leaves clinging helplessly to her mangled pelt, and streaks of chocolate colored mud whipping across her haunches. Cleargaze stared blindly through the black cat, Ravenwing he had said was his name. Staring, staring and more staring, that’s all he will think you are good for you stupid blind cat! A voice erupted into Cleargazes thoughts, and it was not her own voice speaking to her.If you don’t speak soon her will think you are deaf as well as blind, or don’t know how to speak! Maybe he will think of you as a dumb mute! “A mute warrior!” He will tell his fellow Windclan denmates, “Can you believe that?” You must speak up soon!
Surprised and frightful of this strange, loud voice that was speaking to her, the gray warrior let out a squeak. Oh sure, squeal and let him think you are as worthless as a frightened kit. The voice spoke again, just as harsh as the last time. Cleargaze, out of her momentary shock, regained herself. Hello Ravenwing. I am Cleargaze, a warrior of Thunderclan. You are of Windclan descent, I see. If you have not already noticed, I am blind, but that don't get it in your head that I am any less weak then the other warriors. I am just as strong as any other. The ash colored cat was surprised at how rude her words had came out, tone and all, and she was immediately abashed.
Cool, icy wind blew through her pelt, penetrating her skin and chilling her to the bone. She let out a tremor of shivers. Tiny, intricate flakes of snow began falling around the pair of cats, coming to a rest on their dark pelts and the cold hardened ground beneath their paws. Feeling the need to apologize, the slate colored cat whispered, I'm sorry. That sounded extremely rude. I suppose I'm just used to sticking up for myself and used to being battered around. You have never said anything yet that would have provoked my behavior, and it never should have arisen. I am sorry. She ended the apology, not knowing what else to say.
Nose working, she suddenly smelled something. Something odd for this time of year, when the leaves are supposed to drop and die on the icy barren ground. Stay right here. She commanded. I will be right back! She finished as she darted in the direction of the glorious smell. Her paws carried her swiftly across the hard leafbare earth, and she stoped aruptly when the smell became more direct. She took a few more steps and sniffed again, this time parting her jaws to get a good whiff. Could it be? She wondered to herself, this time her own voice, not that of a strangers. It was! Cleargaze reached out and delicately grasped a blood red rose petal between her jaws, and gently plucked it from the bush that was somehow still alive in the midst of leafbare.
Hurrying back, rose petal carefully positioned in between her teeth, she came into the clearing where she had first met Ravenwing, and where he was waiting for her to arrive. She could not speak, because of the rose petal in her jaws, but she simply walked forward and set it on the ground before him. With her nose she gently nudged it towards him, while doing so snow landing upon its beautiful silky red skin.
[/size][/blockquote] speak up dear, cause' I can not hear you.

r a v e n w i n g Whistling past the black cat's ear the wind swirled around sending snowflake's cascading in every direction. Ravenwing twitched his nose, it felt wet and stuffy. He could be curled up in his den but then he wouldn't have met the cat of his dreams. Ravenwing looked at the gray she-cat with curiosity. He sniffled slightly and looked around the forest. He couldn't stand the way the trees looked, it was practically moon high and the forest was silent with a almost deserted look to it. It almost looked like Ravenwing's vivid dreams of when he was chasing Maskedheart but she would suddenly disappear. Ravenwing shuddered and glanced at the sky toward Silverpelt. What would his ancestors think of this. Ravenwing ducked his head in to his chest in embarrassment. He licked his chest suddenly feeling very uncomfortable. Shuffling his paws he cleared an area were frost had once been.
Snow was suddenly enveloping the area. White flakes were now clear and covering the top half of of the dark furred warriors. The tom crinkled his nose in disgust. He was so used to Windclan smell that standing almost on the Thunderclan border and being right next to one almost made him turn around and gulp a breath. Resisting the urge he looked up when he hear a sudden squeak. It seemed like it had come from the Thunderclan cat. Wondering if he should ask her if she was ok or not he sniffled. This was almost to confusing for him. It was wrong in the first place and here he was wondering what to say.
Tucking his ears back at a sudden gust of wind, Ravenwing looked at the she-cat listening to her speak. Cleargaze. Slowly lifting his lack facade he looked in to the she-cats clouded eyes wearily. Sucking in a breath he tried to act calm when he heard her talk. Of course she was blind, her eyes were so clouded and mysterious. How come he had not seen this in his dreams? Shaking his head he tried to rid of questions that flashed thorough his head. Noticing it must be rude to shake your head he stopped and looked down at his paws. But wait she hadn't seen that, she couldn't see it. When she said she was as strong as any warrior Ravenwing believed it, it truly didn't matter about size or anything plus he had heard blind warriors have keen senses due to their loss in eye sight.
When the wind suddenly turned icy Ravenwing shivered, now he envied the cats who had long fur. Hearing Cleargaze shiver he scooted closer to her and brushed his tail over her back trying to make her warm. Suddenly he stopped and pulled his tail back. What was he thinking? He didn't usually even like to communicate with other cats after what had happened. Shivering he hunched his shoulders as light flakes slowly gathered on his back. Dipping his head in her tucked it in to his chest as he faced away from the wind. Hearing her apologize for being rude earlier Ravenwing opened his mouth to speak but stopped when he noticed she kept talking. After she was done Ravenwing nodded his head as if to say it was ok. "It's okay." He blurted out remembering she couldn't see. Lifting up a paw he put it to his forehead glad that she couldn't see. Why did he forget these things so easily?
Sniffling in surprised Ravenwing watched as Cleargaze spoke rapidly and darted away. Ravenwing watched as she weaved her way in and out of things as if she could see. He sat frozen there unsure of what to do. What was she doing? He ruffled his fur and quickly licked his chest blinking lightly against the soft white shower that was swirling in the breeze. Casting a glanced around the woods he shivered. Why was he out so late in the first place? His belly growled with hunger and he quickly accumulated his senses as he listened. He couldn't hear anything with it being late and in leaf bare. Flicking his ears dainty he heard a scuffle. Turning he saw a mouse digging under the snow on the Windclan territory. Crouching he judged the distance and sprang capturing the unprepared mouse in between his paws. Thanking Starclan quickly he bit into the mouse savoring the meat.
Licking his lips in satisfaction he looked around the area. Now he was used too the Thunderclan smell but still it bothered him faintly. Hearing bushes shuffle Ravenwing turned to see Cleargaze walking towards him with something that was blood looking in his mouth. When she set the red colored object down and pushed it toward him Ravenwing stiffened but quickly relaxed. It was a rose petal that was now softly being covered in snow. He had seen many flowers on the Thunderclan side and thought they were beautiful. He was quite sad though that Windclan didn't have any wild plants or flowers. Not knowing what to say Ravenwing uttered his thoughts. "It's beautiful." He usually had a hard time speaking his thoughts out after what had happened with Flightbird and Maskedheart. He usually kept himself locked up as if trying to not open himself up. This way the pain would never overwhelm him.
Glancing up slowly Ravenwing looked in to the clouded eyes of Cleargaze. If only she could see the beautiful things in the world. Sighing lightly he sat up now noticing he had been crouched over the petal examining it with interest. Scuffling his paws lightly he looked around looking around intently. It was getting light and he was sure he would be tired in the morning but he didn't want this meeting to end. Glancing back sideways at the silver furred she-cat he sighed contentedly. At least he had one positive thing in his life. Cleargaze.
1,000 words, wahoo!

c l e a r g a z e your in my mind, all of the time, i know that's not enough.
Confusion was swirling around my head. I had about a million and one questions interrogating my thoughts. What does he think of me? Is he intimidated? Does he think I'm odd? Does he like me? Does he know about the dream too? What about my blindness? Does he care? I felt as if my head were swelling bigger and bigger by the second, and anytime now it would explode into a thousand pieces. Sitting down, I raised a paw, licked it, and nervously wiped it over my face.
Akwardness could decribe this moment. We were not really talking anymore, not that we had done much before, but now it was total silence. Well, at least it was probably pretty silent for him. For me, on the other paw, it was loud. My heart was the loudest, I could hear it pounding wildly against my ribs, roaring in my ears. I could hear the snow flakes falling on the hard, frozen ground. I could hear the winter wind as it whipped across the moorland ahead of me, and whistled through the trees to my back.
Most importantly, I could here him. I listened to his breathing. I zoned in on him, listening, suddenly wanting deperately to prove that I wasn't the only one who's heart was beating out of control. I didn't hear anything. I sighed. The one time my ears fail me. I sighed again, more heavily this time. I figeted around, feeling nervous. I could feel his stare boaring a hole into me. But, the odd thing was, normally, this would get my fur ruffled, but now, this time, it was different. I think I kind of liked it.

r a v e n w i n g The had begun to settle down with light flakes drifting along with the wind, like seaweed did with the ocean current. Ravenwing could feel the awkwardness that was beginning to settle in. His fur fluffed as he thought of it. He usually was in positions like this, not knowing what to say or what to do. He blinked shuffling his feet in the now lightly layered snow. He let his blue eyes gaze over Cleargaze, she seemed nice, and he wondered what to say.
Opening his mouth to talk he stopped. What am I going to say? What will she think of me? She's going to think I'm crazy? Closing his mouth he look down at the white flakes. Ok, let's not be a sissy I can do this. Still looking down he opened his mouth, "Um, I came here because, because," He looked up into Cleargazes eyes. He knew she couldn't see him but he felt like she saw him in a different way. " I saw you in my dreams" He cringed wondering what she would think. Maybe she'll think I'm a crazy stalker.
The red blood petals on the flower looked amazing against the white snow. As the light flakes settled upon the red satin like flower it caused the flower to look mysterious. Swallowing deeply he tried to get rid of the lump in his throat. He watched as Cleargaze licked a paw nervously. Good. So he wasn't they only one who was nervous. Shaking his head and then his body he stood up with his tail ending the shaking. The snow flew off settling on to the floor. He looked up at Cleargaze waiting for anything.
Short blah =P

c l e a r g a z e I am restless, and I keep trembling Everyone watch me as I descend Into a feeling that's overwhelming me I finally stopped, stopped making senseRavenwing. Ravenwing. Ravenwing. The warrior's name was repeating itself over and over again through my mind, sounding like a broken record. I could feel a mixture of feelings radiating off his body. I felt unease, nervousness, and maybe even a bit of fear rolling off of him like an avalanche. I let out a soft purr, in attempt to soothe him and hide my own feelings which happened to be shockingly similar to his.
This moment seemed so surreal, the snow quickly blanketing the ground, the odd rose petals lying in their silken beauty across the white ground. He said he had seen me in his dreams. He was talking about the dream. "I know. I had the same dream, but in my view. I saw you." I the realized that I had said seen, and he probably wouldn't understand, as I had jsut explained that I was blind. "I can see in my dreams..." I muttered, clearing things up for Ravenwing.
A warm feeling had crept over me, even though I was sitting in a pile of snow, and I felt a slight electrifying tingle rushing through my system. I felt like a livewire. It had to be from him. From Ravenwing. Something about being with him made me feel better then I ever had felt before. I knew I had to go soon, or the rest of Thunderclan would send out a patrol to search for me.
"I have to go." I said aruptly. I felt rude, ending this magical encounter so soon. But I needed to go. I could feel morning approaching, hearing the morning birds beginning to sing their songs. I wanted, no needed to see Ravenwing again. Soon. "I want to meet you again." I mewed, my voice trembling for some unknown reason. I waited, hoping that he wanted, felt the need to see me again as bad as I wanted did.

r a v e n w i n g The wind was dieing down slowly as were my eyes. It was almost sunhigh and I hadn't gotten any sleep. It's worth it. I looked up toward Cleargaze. Her frosted eyes held me in chains; my paws frozen in place. A purr rumbled from her throat and I answered with a purr similar. She looked so delicate. Her fur seemed to sparkle under the night sky.
So she had seen the same dream. Wait had she said seen? I listened carefully as she explained how she saw in her dreams. I nodded carefully and then felt embarrassed. Heat radiated from my fur as I remembered her sight was gone. It felt like she could see and I just felt to comfortable around her. Purring softly I closed my eyes the picture of her figure still in my sight.
NO! My thoughts screamed at me but I kept my mouth shut. I didn't want her to go but I knew we should part and the longer we were together the harder it would be. "I don't want to part but I know that what comes from your mouth is true." I purred gently and flicked my tail toward her shoulder. Brushing it over her gray fur I stopped and pulled it back. "Farewell." I mewed quietly and silently. Farewell my love. My thoughts screamed. I waved farewell with my tail though she couldn't see. Turning my back I walked towards the Windclan camp. I knew that if one of us didn't have the strength to leave first then we wouldn't be able to. Holding back my heart I used my brain and padded into the darkness away from a soul that I truly cared about.
