A small brown female stepped softly towards the clear water. She looked down at its reflection, letting her eyes wonder in the water. The water stood still for awhile, until a tiny tadpole swam by making the water ripple across the lake. Another day. the warrior thought. She shook thoughts away from her mind and opened her jaws, scenting if any prey was about.
Mouseleaf ears twitched back and forth as she heard laughters of other cats. Laughter. she thought and stared at the water again. "Ugh! I have to stop letting my mind wonder." she hissed and turned her head as she spotted a small mouse nibbling on the grass slowly. Its tiny hands reaching out for a small grass and then putting it in its mouth slowly like it had no idea that a cat was near by. Mouseleaf lowered her body her green-leaf eyes glowing as she flexed her claws into the ground, as she silently walked towards the mouse. She licked her lips, her mouth opened as she pounced onto the tiny prey. Killing it with a swift bite, she bit down. Tasting the warm blood in her mouth as she almost herself had this for herself, but she knew it was wrong. Mouseleaf raised to her paws the mouse hanging in her jaws. She looked around her ears twitching again, she heard something but she couldn't tell what it was. The wind? no. she dropped the mouse buried it into the ground and looked around. Her green eyes turned into a mixture of worry and fear.
Mouseleaf ran along the edges of the water towards a large stone. She felt the wind in her face. She let it brush against her for a bit until she opened her mouth breathing every scent, fear struck her. "It couldn't be..it just couldn't." she gasped and lowered her back in a snarl. Visions of her memory popped in her head as she shook with fury. She dropped to the ground panting, tears streaming down her face. "Leave me alone." she hissed.
The sun was high up in the sky. It shinned brightly, it showed that no rain was about. And yet, this sunshine didn't help this cat at all. It was a beautiful and prefect day to go a bit hunting, hanging around friends, and maybe even relaxing.
Mouseleaf stared at her paws panting heavily, she let out a hiss and scrapped the ground with her sharp claws. Digging into the ground, as the dirt slipped between her claws. She let out a snarl and stared at the clear blue sky not even a cloud in the sky. Why?! she thought deeply. Why whenever I come alone I think of you! I can't get away from your grip! Even when you are gone...I still see you.. she thought and lowered her ears; Mouseleaf stepped towards the water and stared down. "Starclan will I ever find this peace you always talk about?" she whispered letting the words just slip out carefully. She looked around making sure no-one was about as she slipped into the water feeling the cold water relax every muscle in her body. Her mind opened up and as she closed her eyes, she can almost feel the present of another cat. Although she knew nothing was there.
Mouseleaf shot open her eyes and let out a smile, that one smile that cats see everyday. Her eyes slowly blinked tears and she felt her spirit relax at last. For some time she was stressed, feared and hopeless. Mouseleaf whispered, "I love Thunderclan..it is just that I feel like I can't be myself around anyone. No-one. I want to find someone that I can be myself around. Someone that will knock this wall and find the true of me. I only put a wall because I look who will knock down and care about me." she sighed and shook her wet pelt. She felt the wet dirt slip through her small paws, the wet water soak into her body. She looked around again and slipped into the clear blanket of water deeper she went. Holding her breath she went under, only some cats knew how to swim in Thunderclan and she was one of them. Her father taught her and that was the only thing she is happy about her father.
She stared underneath of the water, staring at tiny silver fish swimming about. The beautiful site she let out a purr a larger smile going across her mouth. She stared down at the lake ground and then spotted something so mysterious. Then a memory hit her thoughts. That was went she almost drowned in the water.
"Mousepaw! Mousepaw! Where are you?!" Wolfpelt yowled as he sreached through the water, only seeing large bubbles go up. "Mousepaw!!" he yowled again seeing his daughter in the clear blue water, her eyes shot back with fear and her pupils were small. He dove down and grabbed Mousepaw's scuff and landed towards the surface...
Mouseleaf shook the thought away and saw her own air running out, she swam to the surface almost coughing. She stayed where she was staring at the water, her whiskers dripping with water and blinked her green-leaf eyes. Only enjoying the beautiful site she saw and the beautiful day.
