School Scheduling

The most boring school-like topic ever created in Wonderland.

I need advice on what classes to take (especially APs). Uh ohs.
Are they hard? Workoverloads?

I'm starting high school next year and oh dear, I'm terrified! Dx But I kind of need to take them for good college.

So does anyone have experience?

well, i will be a sophmore next year, and freshman year here wasnt so bad. im in michigan, if that helps anything.

i didnt take any AP classes... except for math, i took geometry. it wasn't terrible, but everyday, or close to it, there was work. not a truckload, but yes, usually a page or so.

my friend took an AP class, said it wasnt too bad. you know how they say 'plan for another hour of homework?' my friend said that was totally untrue, the only time-consuming thing she had done was just taking notes... not too much on the homework side of things. i guess in AP classes they have projects or tests more often than regular classe do too...

well, sorry if i seem unhelpful, but i can give advice on entering highschool if you need it...

oh, and another thing before i forget. if your thinking about taking a class with a friend just for your friend, dont. i mean, not to be mean, but you only have 6 credits or whatever, and if you just sign up for the same class because your afraid of meeting new people, dont be, and dont do that. one, you might realize you dont like the class and two, sometimes spending every day with that friend might reveal a few things to you... im speaking from experience here... (i mean, my friend is great and all, but boy she can get on my nerves very easily now too)

We just got finished high school scheduling Moony! xP I got into everything I wanted ^^ huzzah! So, therefore as I am going into my freshman year, I have no experience whether or not which classes are good or fun or whatever, but anyhoo heres what I signed up for.

p e r i o d : c l a s s

1st : algebra one {not anything special, just average math}

2nd : american history {not AP}

3rd : earth space physical {not AP}

4th : orchestra {haha, me play's mandolin! We have a cruel, really fat i mean enlarged {to elephant size...} teacher and she is so mean and doesn't care about anyone but her own huge self. -bites her head off. I almost quit because of her but I love my mandolin and my grandpa would be so disapointed. haha}

5th : honors english {tehe i shall be nerdy!! It's my l i v e l y h o o d!!

6th : physical education {reQuired at our school, but only for 1st semester}

7th : art one {oooh goody!}

8th : spanish one (espanol!) {lolz yeah i WAS taking latin all this year but the teacher freaks me out. he has blond eyebrows a read scruff thing goin' on, and blackish brown hair that he slicks back with enough grease or gel or SOMETHING to kill a duck. He smells horrid too. xD yeah plus the fact that i hate latin. =3}

and that's just the 1st semester, but i'ts basically the same classes for the 2nd semester but i'm taking digital photography instead of art one and i'm getting a study hall instead of PE. ^^ Good Luck!!!!

Yes skip and I have just finished highschool scheduling. It was hard to decide what to do. I only applied for one Honors class though because I hate science and social studies isn't my strongest point.

heres my schedule.

1st : algebra one (i am just average.)

2nd : american history (like a.h. but i'm not extraordinary at it.)

3rd : earth space physical (blah. science.)

4th : study hall (yay. my homework time, and reading. tehe)

5th : honors english (i love literature!)

6th : physical education (one semester)

7th : art one (for one semester) digital photography (rest of the year)

8th : spanish one (was deciding between german, french, and spanish but since spanish is the 2nd most popular language and most people in the horse business are spanish i decided this.)

9th : microsoft applications (for one semester just so i can make a site without using proboards.)

Hehe, I love art. xD And pretty much most of my electives are art based.
I'm also taking all summer-school possibilities... like I'm taking speech class this summer. D: Shoot.

I plan to take these AP classes for 10/11/12th grade:
Chemistry 11th grade (I don't know about this one... I'm not very scientific xD)
English 12
Calculus 12
Govt/Politics 12 (I might take this if it's not too hard or time-consuming. Social Studies goes through my head and then forget it the next day)
Art Studio 12
English 10th grade

I have tons of friends who're in the 6th grade right now (maybe I'm just immature) but still...

Ugh, you guys are SO lucky! At my school, if you take Honors English you also have to take Honors History... I totally LOVE English, but I really stink at History... It's just SO BORING! It makes me want to sleep.

Here's my schedual that I have right now (I'm currently in 8th grade)

1st Period: English (YESSS!)
2nd Period (Tuesday and Friday): Study Hall (Hooray for doing homework in other classes I didn't finish last night!)
2nd Period (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday): Gym (Boring and an easy A+)
3rd Period: Science (It's alright, but kinda boring)
4th Period: Latin (Ugh, THE worst choice I've EVER MADE EVER!)
5th Period: Math (I'm suffering in this subject because I was put in the smart class for math... o.O I STINK AT MATH!!!)

Nom nom nom... LUNCH! Yay! On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I get to eat lunch in the library and read books- it's called Literary Lunch Club or somthing, lol)

6th Period: Art (W00t w00t! Probably my best subject. )
7th Period: History *thunder cracks and lightning flashes across the computer screen* (EWW!)

Yep, that's pretty much my schedual... Except that, as soon as 3rd Quarter's up, I'll have to take Health instead of Art... And we have the dreaded >>report me<< ed this year. *Screeches* Noooooo! Luckily, I have the sane teacher who doesn't shove nasty things in your face if you look away... I'll leave it to your imagination what things. *shudders*
